Factor Information
Data ID 2814
Factor Cardiac diagnosis (reference: ventricular septal defect) Atrial septal defect and relation with Externalizing
Description Cardiac medication before therapeutic intervention was significantly associated with a higher (ie, an unfavorable) externalizing score, whereas the diagnostic categories of atrial septal defect and pulmonary stenosis significantly predicted lower scores on externalizing.
Biomarker NA
Classification A2 (clinical factor - diagnosis)

Objective The aim of the study was to test the following: (1) the predictive value of medical variables for long-term parent-reported behavioral and emotional problems in children and adolescents who underwent invasive treatment of congenital heart disease in infancy and (2) the relationship between parental psychological distress and parental reports on problems in children.
p Value <0.05
Conclusion Cardiac medication before therapeutic intervention was significantly associated with a higher (ie, an unfavorable) externalizing score, whereas the diagnostic categories of atrial septal defect and pulmonary stenosis significantly predicted lower scores on externalizing.
