Factor Information
Data ID 3185
Factor mortality rates stratified by body weight (more than 5kg)
Description ARF=acute renal failure
Biomarker NA
Classification A3 (clinical factor - disease & symptom)
Association
Application risk assessment and prognosis
Objective To assess the clinical outcome and risk factors in children with ARF treated with peritoneal dialysis after CHD surgery.
p Value 0.004
OR 3.82
Conclusion In conclusion, postoperative ARF was associated with increased mortality in children operated for congenital heart disease. Major complications to PD were few, and our data strongly support that PD is a simple, safe, feasible, and robust dialysis modality for the management of ARF in children.
