Factor Information
Data ID 3972
Factor relative levels of expression of miRNA-208a
Description The relative levels of expression of miRNA-208a were 3.7 times higher in the group of children with an uncomplicated postoperative course.
Biomarker YES
Classification D2 (molecular factor - gene expression)
Association
Application prognosis
Objective To access an association between the preoperative levels of miRNA208a and the risk of developing complications.
p Value 0.03
OR 1.16
Conclusion The relative levels of expression of miRNA-208a were significantly higher in the group of children with an uncomplicated postoperative course than those with complications. The lower the level of miRNA-208a in the patient’s blood before the operation, the higher was the risk for developing complications following surgery(also after adjusting for the child’s age and Aristotle score).
Risk Factor no influencing factor(unadjusted)
